How to Get a Clean, Stable Video Face Swap
The swap quality depends more on your input choices than on the model. These are the adjustments that make the most measurable difference.

1Shoot your source portrait close-up and square-on. The model measures 128 facial landmarks from your photo. A face that fills at least 30% of the frame gives it more data per landmark, which directly tightens the swap boundary on every video frame.

2Match the lighting angle between source and video. If the video was lit from the left and your source photo was lit from above, the blend will look flat at the jaw and temple. Where possible, choose a source photo taken in conditions similar to the target video.

3Trim to the active scene before uploading. Black leader, title cards and fade-in frames are all processed at full cost. Removing them reduces your frame count by 10–20% on a typical clip and shaves meaningful time off processing.

4Use 1080p or lower. Avoid 4K. Higher resolution does not improve swap accuracy - Face detection normalises to 128×128 pixels internally regardless of source resolution. 4K files are significantly heavier to decode and encode for no gain in swap quality.

5Set Blend Strength to 0.85 if you see hard edges. A full 1.0 swap is cleanest on still faces, but motion blur and compression artifacts in the video sometimes make edge blending more visible. Dropping to 0.85 softens the join without noticeably reducing the swap effect.

6Encode your output as MP4 H.264 before re-uploading anywhere. The downloaded file is already in H.264. Avoid converting it to AVI or MOV before posting - Extra codec conversions introduce re-compression artifacts that are most visible around the face region.
Limitations of This Tool
This tool does what it says - but there are real constraints you should know about before uploading a long video or expecting broadcast-quality output.
The output MP4 contains video only. Audio from your original clip is not carried over. If you need the original soundtrack, mux it back in using CapCut, iMovie, or DaVinci Resolve after downloading.
Each frame is processed individually. A 60-second video at 24fps is 1440 frames - expect 5 to 15 minutes of processing depending on resolution and settings. The page must stay open during processing.
Profile angles, extreme head tilt, heavy occlusion (masks, hands over face, motion blur) will cause those frames to pass through unmodified with the original face intact. The model needs a mostly frontal view to detect landmarks reliably.
The tool processes up to 1440 frames per job, roughly 60 seconds at 24fps. Longer videos will be cut at the frame limit. To process a longer clip, trim it to the relevant section before uploading.
A blurry, low-resolution, or strongly side-lit source photo will produce a blurry, poorly lit swap on every frame. The model can only work with the facial detail it can extract from your image. A clear, well-lit, front-facing portrait is not optional - it is the single biggest quality lever you have.
You can only provide one source face photo per submission. All detected faces in the video will be swapped to that same identity. There is no per-person or per-region targeting - if you need different faces swapped to different identities, that requires separate runs.
