How to remove an object from a photo

How it works and tips for the best result

When you paint over an area, the tool sends your photo together with that mask to an AI inpainting model. Inpainting does not cut a hole or blur the spot, it studies the pixels around your mask and repaints the region with plausible new detail, matching the texture, color and lighting nearby. That is why the same approach can rebuild a patch of sky, a stretch of wall or a slice of pavement and have it look like it was never disturbed.

• Cover the whole object plus a little extra. Include the edges and any shadow it casts, because stray pixels left at the border are the most common reason a removal looks off.
• Favor simpler backgrounds. Smaller regions on plain backdrops, like sky, grass or a flat wall, give the cleanest fills. Very large or complex removals are harder for the AI to reconstruct.
• Work one object at a time. Several small passes often beat one giant mask, especially in busy scenes.
• Resize the brush as you go. Use a small brush for fine detail near your subject and a large brush to fill big areas quickly.

Try again with a mask that fully covers the object plus a bit of its surrounding edges and shadow, since stray pixels left at the border are the usual cause. Large or detailed backgrounds can be tricky, so you may get a better result by removing the object in smaller passes.
