Where is my AskAI.free data stored?
Quick answer: Your account, chat history and saved prompts live on our servers (encrypted at rest). Anonymous questions are stored only in your browser, never on our servers.
Two different storage paths depending on who you are:
- Anonymous users — your one-question conversation stays in
localStorageon your device. We never write it to our database. Clear your browser and it's gone. - Signed-in users — chat history, saved prompts, and account data are stored in our managed MySQL database, encrypted at rest, behind authenticated API endpoints.
Backups are encrypted and rotated weekly. Server logs that include request paths are kept for 30 days for debugging and abuse-prevention, then auto-deleted.
